Screens Lie About Wood.
Every monitor renders color differently, and no photograph captures how oak shifts from daylight to lamplight, or how it sits against your own walls and floors. The finish is the one decision you cannot change once your piece is built. This is how you get it right the first time.

The Real Thing. Not a Printed Lookalike.
Each sample is solid quartersawn American oak, a half inch thick, cut from the same boards we build our furniture with and finished by hand in each of our six colors. Hold it. Turn it to the light. Run your thumb across the grain. You are feeling exactly what your furniture will be.
We finish offcuts rather than machine fresh squares, because a shop that has built heirlooms for three generations does not waste good wood. That is why yours has its own edges. No two sets are quite alike.
How It Works

Six genuine oak samples, cut from the same American boards we build with and finished by hand in each of our six finishes. These are not printed lookalikes. Each is solid quartersawn oak, a half inch thick, wearing the exact hand-rubbed finish your furniture will wear.
$20 cost is credited in full against your final order.
